Trying on the bikini for the water birth I never got to have
#MySundayPhoto 18.09.16

Not long from my pregnancy due date, I tried on my bikini, I’d bought all ready for my planned water birth. I took a picture to save a memory of my growing bump, my baby I was to meet very soon. That was the only time I got to wear it. Continue reading “#MySundayPhoto 18.09.16”

Sadie’s story – premature Martha born at 28 weeks

I am extremely honoured and humbled that Sadie and Tom, have shared  their story with me. They hope by doing this, it will assist fund raising for Doncaster Neonatal Unit, and raise awareness and support for other families effected by premature birth.

Martha was born premature at 28 weeks, weighing a tiny 2 pounds. Mum Sadie had no idea her blood pressure had become sky-high, and was still working. She was suffering from pre-eclampsia. She had no hospital bag ready, and thought she had another 3 months to prepare. An emergency doctors appointment led to the birth of premature Martha within hours. #MySundayPhoto – Play and Cuddles 11.09.16

Summer garden fun
Summer garden fun
Simple play times

Simple things can be the best – throwing a blanket on the grass in the garden. Play and cuddles with mummy. Being silly.

Silly voices and faces.

Silly noises.

Feeling the sun and the breeze on your face and pointing up to the sky. Not rushing to anything. Being 100% present and in the moment.

Remembering the important things. Because making simple memories is important.

What are your simple pleasures?

How did we get 60 mums breastfeeding at once? – Doncaster Big Latch On 2016

A small, silly idea from a googling mum. I stumbled across information for world breast-feeding week and “the big latch on” and looked for events in Doncaster, and there was diddly squat.

Then it dawned on me, I could do this.  Continue reading “How did we get 60 mums breastfeeding at once? – Doncaster Big Latch On 2016”

Read The Baby Led Weaning Diaries – Week 3

Starting to get brave with weaning

Writing this in the back of the car heading up the A1 to Durham to see friends, looking at my beautiful baby. He’s so content chomping on Sophie’s legs, smiling at mummy. Wind back a couple of months, this would have been so stressful, worrying about feeds, and how far the next services was. Continue reading “Read The Baby Led Weaning Diaries – Week 3”
